"I'M still in with a mathematical chance of winning the World Championship when I go to the penultimate round of the Grand Prix in Vojens, Denmark on Saturday.

I'm currently lying fourth in the world on 52 points with Billy Hamill a further four points in front of me on 56, with Mark Loram (73) and Tony
Rickardsson (69) both that little bit further ahead. So mathematically I can still win the world championship (with each GP win worth 25 points), and if you can still win it mathematically then you are in with a chance the same as anyone else.

I know I'm not in as good a position as Mark or Tony, but anything can happen in speedway, you never have to give up, and a couple of bad performances from a couple of the top guys and good performances from me and guys around me and it can all change.

For Vojens, I'm already qualified in the Main Event, as one of the top eight riders from the British Grand Prix, which means I don't have to do the qualifying races, so a couple of good races and I am hopefully looking at a semi final place.

Last year I was in a very similar overall points position with a couple of GPs to go, but I didn't consolidate my performances then and I had the worst two GPs of the year. I want to make sure this doesn't happen to me this year and I'm determined to push right on to the end and maintain reasonably good performances right up until the last race of the 2000 series.

As far as Vojens is concerned, it doesn't bother me, I've had some good
performances there before in Gold Bar meetings, in the World Final revenge
meeting and I've made the A final in a GP there before, so I hope Saturday
night will see another good performance for me.

I've had a restful time before the Danish GP which has been excellent
preparation, but my form has been good and at my home track, King's Lynn,in
England last week I won a race in 58.8 seconds, the first time I'd been
under 59 seconds at the track before, so I was well pleased with that."
