30.....Edinburgh were kept honest for most of the Premier League match to narrowly win at home over Newcastle 48-44. Christian Henry was rock solid with 2',1',1'=4+3.

30.....Arena-Essex comfortably won their home Premier League match over Swindon 50-41. Frank Smart's night included two heat falls in his 2,f,fex,3,1'=6+1

29.....In ALLSVENSKAN League racing in Sweden, Craig Watson and Brett Woodifield were good contributors for Gettingarna with 10 and 9 points respectively with their alloted five rides, however the team went down to home team Piraterna 51-45. Mark Keast added 4 points for his victorious side.

29.....Swindon were no match for Sheffield at home as the 'Tigers' ran to a 56-34 victory. Simon Stead was handy with 3,3,f,2=8 while Frank Smart was out of sorts on 1,2,3,1,0=7 for the 'Robins'.

29.....Adam Shields continues to impress with another fine display at home for Isle of Wight. Posting 2',3,2,2,1'=10+1, Adam helped the 'Islanders' to a win over Stoke 48-42 in the Premier League.

29.....Belle Vue have won their first Elite League match of 2000 over Peterborough and in front of the TV camera's as well! To cap it off, Jason Lyons was in tremendous form posting a paid maximum 3,2',3,3,3,3=17+1 and Kevin Doolan played his part with 2',1,1,1=5+1. For the 'Panthers', Ryan Sullivan is rumoured to be injured after a fall in Poland the previous day and did not ride. Nigel Sadler was scoreless after three rides and Brett Woodifield could only muster 1,0,fex,0=1.

29.....With an all round team effort, Hull ran out winners in this Premier Trophy match over Glasgow 51-40. Rusty Harrison tried hard for the 'Tigers' with 2,0,2,3,0=7

29.....Wolverhampton have out classed Poole 42-49 in this Elite League  fixture. Steve Johnston was guesting for Ronnie Correy in the 'Wolves' squad and added 2,1,2,0=5, while Craig Watson had a tough time with 0,0,ef,1',0=1+1 for the visiting 'Pirates'.

27.....Jason Crump has won the Individual 'SEFF Championship' held in Stockholm, Sweden. Jason finished top points scorer with 14 and went on to win the five rider final ahead of Niklas Klingberg, Greg Hancock, Peter Nahlin and Henka Gustafsson.

27.....Wolverhampton advance to the next round of the KOCup with this second leg win over visiting Eastbourne 51-39. Brent Collyer failed to score in his 3 rides for the hapless 'Eagles'.

26.....Oxford travelled to Belle Vue and comfortably defeated a depleated 'Aces' outfit 40-50. Sensation of the night must go to guest 'Cheetah' Shane Parker who rode brilliantly scoring 2,3,3,3=11. Todd Wiltshire added a handy 2',3,2,2',0=9+2 and Steve Johnston stirred the locals up with 2,1',ex,3=6+1. For the home side, Jason Lyons was unbeatable except for a dubious exclusion and an engine blow up in his 3,ex,3,3,ef,3,3=15 and Kevin Doolan toughed it out to 0,2,1,0,1'=4+1.

26.....Christian Henry had to prove his fitness to ride at Newcastle for the Edinburgh 'Monarch's' third match in as many nights. A crash in his first ride at Workington the night before left the Queenslander battered and bruised, but did take his place in the match today scoring a tentative 1,0,1,0=2. Newcastle ran out winners 49-41.

26.....Glasgow won an entertaining meeting at home over Workington 47-43. Rusty Harrison rode to 0,0,1',2=3+1for the victorious 'Tigers' and Mick Powell scored a great 3,3,1,3,0=10 for the 'Comets'.

26.....In a Premier League match, Newport lost to visiting Sheffield 43-48. The 'Tigers' fought very hard for each point and Captain Sean Wilson relished the extra shale laid on the track the day before and rode to a 15 point max. Simon Stead also played his part adding 3,2,2,3,1=11with heat wins coming from outside sweeps on the last bend.

25.....Stoke kept a comfortable buffer over Glasgow throughout their home Premier League match and went on to win 49-43. Rusty Harrison added 1,1,0,2=4 to the 'Tigers' losing tally.

25.....In this Elite League fixture at Coventry, Ipswich wore down the home teams slender lead early in the match to run out winners 42-47 courtesy of a great 12+3 point haul from6 rides by Tomasz Gollob

25.....Edinburgh go to the top of the Premier League table after their narrow loss at Workington, but gain a bonus point with their bigger win against the 'Comets' at their home 9 days earlier. Christian Henry crashed out in his first ride but returned for a third placing before being ordered out of the match on Doctors advice.

25.....Wolverhampton have caused an upset in this KOC 1st leg clash by downing hometeam Eastbourne 44-46. The match was a very close fought out affair throughout the encounter with 'Wolves' and 'Overseas Final winner Sam Ermolenko winning the final heat 15 to maintain their narrow lead. 'Eagles' Brent Collyer did not score in his three rides.

25.....Although the score didn't reflect the 'nip and tuck' way this Premier League match went upto heat 12, Berwick eventually ran out winners on their home track 53-37 against Arena-Essex.

24.....Peterborough defeated Belle Vue in an Elite League fixture 50-40. Ryan Sullivan lead the way for the 'Panthers' with 3,1',3,3,2'=12+2 and in the process lowered  Jason Crump's 3 year old track record to 60.1 sec. in his very first heat. Nigel Sadler did well with 3,0,1,1'=5+1 and Brett Woodifield 0,0,1,1=2. Jason Lyons had a busy night with 7 rides posting 2,1',3,2',3,1,R=12+2 and Kevin Doolan added 1',2,0=3+1 in his 3 rides for the 'Aces'.

24.....Lee Herne was back in the Newport 'Mavericks' colours once more and possibly rode his best Conference League match to date, although his score of 2,2,3,1=8 was down on past tallies. The 'Mavericks' won this encounter over St. Austell 50-40.

23.....Adam Shields has ridden to a near 'paid maximum' in an absolutely brilliant display for his Premier team Isle of Wight against visiting Newport. However Adam's efforts weren't enough to stop the 'Wasps' from taking the match 43-47. The inform Aussie amassed 3,3,3,2,3,2'=16+1, Adrian Newman posted 0,0,1=1, while guest 'Islander' Lee Herne struggled to 1,0,0=1.

22.....Hull defeated Workington in this Premier Trophy match 47-45 and have attained the necessary points to move into the Semi-finals against 'Southern division' team Swindon. Workington are already through and will meet Exeter in the other Semi. For the 'Comets' in this match, Mick Powell tried his heart out posting 11+1 from 5 rides for the losers.

22.....With Joe Screen guesting in the place of injured Jimmy Nilsen, Oxford have scored a 5-1 in the final heat to snatch a home victory from Belle Vue 46-44. Todd Wiltshire followed the temporary 'Cheetah' home in that final finishing with 1,2,3,3,2'=11+1. Steve Johnston was a little off the boil adding 1',2,3,fx=6+1 and Mark Lemon missed the match after injuring his foot the night before during a Swedish league match.

22.....Craig Watson is gaining valuable race time as he recovers from his season opening crash, and scored 1',0,1,1=3+1 for Poole as they clashed with visiting Coventry. The 'Bees' stole the show by taking the match 45-48

20.....Ryan Sullivan has had a terrible night for Peterborough as they visited Wolverhampton. Ryan started with a magic win in heat 1, then fell and was subsequently excluded in his next, followed by two third places to register 5 points towards the 'Panthers' total of 41. Nigel Sadler also had a night to forget with two engine failures in his ef,ef,0=0 and Brett Woodifield also won his first heat to finish the match on 3,1,0,0,0=4. Wolverhampton sneaked home to win 49-41.

19.....In Conference League, Adrian Newman played a virtual lone hand for Somerset with 3,fex,1,2,33=12 points as the team were walloped by Boston 60-29. 

19.....Glasgow and Newcastle fought out a 'Knock Out Cup' match where the qualifiers (Hull and Workington) have already been settled. It was however a handy hit-out for new 'Tiger' chum Rusty Harrison who scored 1,0,0,2=3

19.....In blistering heat, Newport battled well to comfortably defeat visiting Berwick 51-42. The 'Wasps' were without the inform Andrew Appleton but the team rallied to contribute enmasse. Great to see Frank Smart in the crowd and although not on a bike, was still 'entertaining'!!!!!

18.....Berwick were once again too strong on their home track and easily defeated Edinburgh 52-37. Christian Henry started the night well then failed to score in his last two heats with 3,0,0=3 for the 'Monarchs'.

18.....Eastbourne easily accounted for Poole 53-37 in Elite League action. Brent Collyer is proving his worth once more with a handy 4+2 from 4 rides at Reserve spot for the 'Eagles'. Craig Watson had his first League match since returning from injury and scored a careful 4+2 from 6 rides for the visiting 'Pirates'.

18.....South Aussie Rusty Harrison has appeared in his first Premier League match for his new team Glasgow in an away fixture at Workington and scored a very handy 5 from 4 rides. It proved a valuable contribution as the clash ended in a draw 45 all at the usually tough 'Comets' home track. Mick Powell continues his struggling form with 5 points from 4 rides and Lee Herne guested for Workington adding 2+1 from 4 rides.

18.....Coventry won their home match against Kings Lynn 48-42. Proving difficult to find scores!!!

17.....Isle of Wight doggedly fought back from an early deficit to narrowly lose this away Premier League fixture to Arena-Essex 46-43. The Islanders were well serviced by Adam Shields who is in terrific form with 2,2',1,3,0=8+1 and Adrian Newman with 1,0,1=2.

17.....Briefly, Oxford have lost their home match to Peterborough 41-49, however Todd Wiltshire scored a maximum 18 from his 6 rides. More soon.

15.....Swindon have taken out this Premier League clash with Hull 50-42. Frank Smart was in dynamic form with 1',3,2',2',2=10+3 for the victorious 'Robins'.

15.....With a very handy 10+1 score, Simon Stead helped Sheefield to a comfortable win over visiting Reading 51-39.

15.....Ipswich were untroubled as they defeated visiting Peterborough 50-40 in Elite League racing. Ryan Sullivan was a little below par with 9 from 5 rides, Nigel Sadler 3 from 4 rides and Brett Woodifield 6+1 from 4.

15.....In 'Allsvenken' League racing in Sweden, Mark Lemon has posted 8 points towards his club Bysarna in their draw with Filbyterna 48 all.

Mark Keast has proven a match winner with his splendid 12 points for Piraterna as they scraped through defeating Karlstad 50-46.

15.....Kings Lynn used Jason Lyons as guest, in for an injured Jason Crump, to great effect as the Belle Vue 'Ace' helped the 'Knights' to a narrow win over Ipswich. Lyons started with a fall on an unfamiliar track then showed his class with fx,3,3,3,2=11. Travis McGowan added 2,1,2,1=6, Craig Boyce was handy with 3,3,0,2=8, Shane Parker a good team score of 2',2',1,1=6+2 and Leigh Adams an unusual spate of seconds with 2,2,2,2',1'=9+2. Final score 47-43. 

15.....Hull were outclassed early in this Premier League match then found better form to storm home winners over a dogged Reading, 48-41.

14.....Isle of Wight have outgunned Arena-Essex 50-40 in their Premier League match. Adam Shields has shown his liking to the home track once again and stormed to a brilliant 3,3,3,2,1=12 and teammate Adrian Newman struggled to 0,1,R=1.

14.....Jason Crump has been withdrawn from the next days Kings Lynn match after an unsuccessful return to racing in Sweden. Jason is still suffering the effects of his leg and lower back injuries recieved during the Swedish Grand Prix last weekend.

13.....Shane Parker has missed the cut to qualify for the World Championship Longtrack Grands Prix of 2000. In the Semi-final held at Stadskanaal in the Netherlands, Shane scored a 6th,4th,4th,3rd which saw him into 13th place overall. Only the top 9 placegetters progressed. England's Paul Hurry won the Semi.

13.....Adrian Newman had a busy night for Somerset scoring 3,2,3,2,2,0,T=12 in Conference League action. Rye House won the encounter 58-32. 

13.....Swindon were pummelled at Exeter to the tune of 57-33 in a Premier League fixture. Frank Smart tried his darndest for the 'Robins' with 2,3,2,2,0,2=11.

13.....Newport came back from a poor start to worry home team Reading in the remainder of the match however the 'Racers' scrapped through with the win 46-44. Lee Herne put in a good effort of 1,2',1'=4+2 for the 'Wasps', but to no avail.

12.....Stoke advance to the next stage in the KOC competition after a win away at Newcastle and wrapping up the return with an aggregate of 95-85. This second leg was won by the 'Potters' after a strong second half. Match score; 43-47.

12.....In their biggest win to date in 2000, Glasgow have sent Arena-Essex home after a 59-31 drubbing in their Premier League match.

12.....In 'Knock Out Cup' (KOC) action in the Premier League, Newport were too good at home for Workington with Lee Herne putting in a fabulous performance for the 'Wasps' with 3,1,0,0,0,2'=6+1 and Mick Powell having only 3 rides for his 2,2,3=7 for the 'Comets'.

11.....What a difference a home match makes! Eastbourne bounced back from their heavy loss at Kings Lynn 3 nights earlier to defeat the 'Knights' 50-39 in the return Elite League match. Brent Collyer was back in the 'Eagles' squad adding 1,0,1'=2+1. For Kings Lynn, Jason Crump did not ride due to his GP injuries, Craig Boyce 0,0,1,1,1',2=5+1, Shane Parker had a big night  with 2,1,3,0,2,3,X=11, Leigh Adams also a big match with 2,2,2,3,3,3,3=18 and Travis McGowan failed to score in 4 rides.

11.....In a close match throughout, Berwick stumbled over the line to narrowly defeat Glasgow 46-44 in Premier League action.

11.....With inclement weather around the Workington V Newport match went as far as heat 12 before being stopped due to rain. The 40-31 score-line in favour of the 'Comets' will stand. Mick Powell had 3 rides posting 4+1 points.

11.....The Edinburgh and Arena-Essex match was also shortened by the rain after heat 12 with Christian Henry helping the 'Monarchs' to a win in this KOC fixture by adding a handy 2',1,1',0=4+2.

11.....Lee Herne has a less than successful Conference League match for Newport 'Mavericks' as he failed to finish his first ride, fell in the next but then managed a second in his last race. Mildenhall won the encounter 41-48.

10.....Peterborough were simply too good for visiting Poole in this second leg of their 'Knock Out Cup' fixture and took the win 52-38. Ryan Sullivan again lead the 'Panthers' from the front with his 2,3,3,3,2=13 points, Nigel Sadler a handy 2',0,0,1'=3+2 and Brett Woodifield had a great night at reserve with 3,1,2',1'=7+2.

10.....Arena-Essex held off Edinburgh 48-42 in KOC action where Christian Henry added 1,1',1',0=3+2 for the 'Monarchs'.

10.....It was a fine win for Oxford at home over Wolverhampton 47-43 with the tentative re-return of Mark Lemon. Lemo tried to comeback from his shoulder injury 10 days ago without success and still appears some way off from full recovery with a match score of 0,0,3,0=3. Todd Wiltshire may not have scored heavily, 3,3,2,1,0=9, however rode very well with Steve Johnston a handy 2,1,2,3=9. Twice Aussie visitor Lukas Dryml had his best meeting for the 'Cheetahs' with 3,2',2',0,2=9+2. Shane Parker guested for the 'Wolves' with 1,2,1,1'=1.

9.....Ipswich were in control of this Elite League match at home until Greg Hancock won a 'Golden Tactical' double points heat which brought the 'Bees' right back into contention. With a 5-1 from Hancock and Hamill in the final heat, the match score finished on 47-46 to the 'Witches'. 

9.....Hull have kicked Sheffield out of the 'Knock Out Cup' courtesy of a drawn match 45 all at Sheffield. After winning the night before at home, the 'Vikings' now progress to the next 'Cup' round.

9.....Swindon have scraped through their home 'Knock Out cup' fixture over Reading 46-44. Frank Smart had a shocker of a meeting scoring f,3,ex,2',1=6+1 which included an exclusion in one heat for unfair riding!

For the 'Aces', Jason Lyons was not in his usual 'score-fest' mood and mustered only 3,2,2,0,0=7 from 5 rides but Kevin Doolan got amongst it with 1,1,1',2=5+1 from 4 rides.

6.....Isle of Wight put up a far better performance at Exeter than other teams have produced at the 'Falcons' track of late and narrowly being defeated 50-40. Adrian Newman struggled to 0,0,1=1 but Adam Shields eventually worked out the track to add 1',0,3,2=6+1 toward the 'Islanders' tally.

6.....Swindon pounced on a disappointing Reading and through the splendid services of Frank Smart, were able to win away 43-47. Frank was in great touch adding a paid maximum 13+2 from his 5 rides.

6.....Home team Wolverhampton have thrown away this Elite League match to eventually draw with Belle Vue 45-45. The 'Aces' Jason Lyons was in white hot form running to a great maximum 18 from 6 rides and Kevin Doolan battled very hard for his 1,2',2,0,1=6+1.

5.....Glasgow were forced  to battle hard for their victory over visiting Edinburgh and while comfortably leading for most of the match, only scraped home at the end 47-46. Christian Henry had mechanical problems and his score-chart of 0,0,0=0 didn't reflect his night.

5.....Newport were solid in their win over visiting Isle of Wight taking the match 49-41. Adam Shields' first away match for the 'Islanders' turned out to be disasterous as he struggled to come to grips with a new track and then fell heavily in his third ride. He took a while to get up and mild concussion was diagnosed. His score sheet was 0,1,f=1. Adrian Newman faired little better with 0,1,0=1 as his bike was spluttering at one stage.

4.....Berwick held on to defeat Reading 49-41 on a heavy track in this Premier League fixture.

4.....Adrian Newman has helped Somerset defeat St. Austell in the Conference League 55-35. Adrian added 8+1 to the 'Rebels' total.

4.....Jason Crump has won an action packed Swedish Speedway Grand Prix in Linkoping. The 'A' Final was controversial with World Champ Tony Rickardsson (Sweden) being excluded after a crash with England's Mark Loram. Race director Ole Olsen tried to get Tony back in however was unsuccessful. Jason jumped from the gate in the re-start and lead all the way. Mark Loram finished second and Australian Todd Wiltshire a brilliant third.
        Loram is in the lead of the Championship with 40 points for two Grand Prix second placings and Wiltshire is second in the Title race courtesy of a Round 1 fourth place and his third this morning. Ryan Sullivan and Leigh Adams made it through to the Semi-finals and finished 7th and 8th
respectively. A good day for the Aussies.

2.....News from Poland has occasional Bydgoszcz rider Shane Parker teeing up a deal to ride machinery built by Polish teamate and current World #2 Tomasz Gollob. Shane is reported to be very enthusiastic about his prospects aboard the bikes. Shane will appear for the EkstraLiga team soon. 

2.....With Frank Smart in sparkling form, Swindon grabbed a narrow win over Berwick 46-44. Frank scored 3,3,2,1',3=12+1in this Premier League match.

2.....Sheffield trounced visiting Newport 54-36 with Simon Stead back to his very best adding 2,3,3,3=11 for the 'Tigers' and the 'Wasps' once again fielded Lee Herne in the team who scored 0,0,1=1.

1.....Poole have sneaked home after a last heat decider to win over visiting Peterborough 47-43 in their 'Knock Out Cup' calsh today. Of the Aussie 'Panthers' Ryan Sullivan managed 2,2,3,1',1,1=10+1, Nigel Sadler started well with 3,0,0,1'=4+1 and Brett Woodifield 1,1,0,1'=3+1.
